Indie-pop singer Jack Penate is set to tour the UK after announcing a series of Autumn dates.
Jack Penate’s recent victory over the critics has been one of the year’s most unexpected comebacks. Arriving amidst a great deal of hype back in 2007, debut album ‘Matinee’ was crushed by the weight of expectation.
Yet beneath the trend-setting schtick there lay a sensitive songwriting talent. Retreating to his rehearsal room Jack Penate began working on a new batch of songs, that would cut back to the music that initially inspired him.
New album ‘Everything Is New’ has left listeners stunned. The record contained Penate’s most inspired songwriting to date, and justifiably saw him gain revenge on the critics who so easily built him up and then knocked him down.
A series of festival appearances have seen the singer waltz his merry way around the country. Recently performing at T In The Park he was afforded a typically jovial Scottish welcome, and clearly revelled in being close to his fans.
Jack Penate is due to release his new single ‘Pull My Heart Away’ on August 24th. A lilting lament, it showcases the singer’s warm voice, which seems to pull the listener in. A highlight of his recent album, Jack Penate’s latest single could well see him return to the charts.
