Cardiff based group Islet are set to play a number of British tour dates this November.
Continually evolving, it’s often impossible to second guess Islet. The band’s post-everything sound encompasses electronics and guitars, expanding the traditional rock set up until it shatters.
The band’s slim discography to date contains a mere two releases – ‘Celebrate This Place’ and ‘Wimmy’ – both of which have been handled by Turnstile. However the brevity underlines the impact, with Islet gaining a cult following.
Keeping busy throughout the summer, Islet played Reading and Leeds before taking a break. The band are now looking forward to the Autumn, after announcing a series of British tour dates.
Opening in Manchester on November 11th, the amorphous Welsh collective will then journey to Leeds for a set at the Constellations Festival.
Other dates include a show at Nottingham’s Bodega Social on November 13th, before playing Norwich, Brighton and more. Islet are set to visit the capital on November 16th, having confirmed a one off headline show at the Lexington.
Ending in Cambridge on November 17th, the British shows will be followed by a quick visit to the Netherlands.
To compliment the upcoming shows Islet have prepared a limited edition new 12 inch. Featuring the new cut ‘This Fortune’ the disc also boasts a Tidal Barrage remix and a sound collage.
Recorded by the group, the collage apparently “assembles excerpts and fragments of their experiences, experiments and processes.”
Should be interesting! Tickets are on sale now.
