In Pictures: Olivia Dean Hits Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage

A beautiful moment for the singer...

Olivia Dean is a truly special talent. The songwriter’s Mercury nominated debut presented a bold, original voice, blending neo-soul with pop and a revealing thirst for expression.

Hitting the Pyramid Stage mere hours after the release latest single ‘Time’, the singer completed an enchanting performance that carried a real sense of emotional weight.

A terrific vocalist, Olivia Dean matches this to a sense of purpose. Wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with her grandmother’s face, she used the performance to salute the Windrush Generation.

“She came to this country when she was 18, never been on a plane… she had my mum quite young, my mum had me and I’m a product of her bravery,” she said. “So this song is for my granny, to the Windrush generation, for any immigrant, anyone’s who’s brave enough to move.”

At times overcome with emotion, Olivia Dean wiped away tears before final song ‘Dive’.
