In Pictures: Mark Lanegan – A Celebration

A remarkable evening at London's Roundhouse...

Mark Lanegan was a one-off. A remarkable vocalist, an incredible songwriter, and a forceful present in American music – and beyond – he was a true artist, someone who spoke from the heart in everything he did.

Sadly passing away on February 22nd, 2022, the American vocalist left behind a remarkable legacy.

Last week a number of friends, peers, and key collaborators united in London’s Roundhouse to give Mark Lanegan the send-off he deserves, a titanic, deeply emotional evening dedicated to the sanctity of music.

Soulsavers took up the mantle of house band, with friends like Troy Van Leeuwen and Aldo Struyf sitting in across the evening.

A series of pivotal collaborators from Mark Lanegan’s career took part, with the likes of Josh Homme, Greg Dulli, Dave Gahan, Chrissie Hynde, Bobby Gillespie, Alison Mosshart, Duke Garwood (and more!) taking part.

Tickets sold out instantly, with reports of fans travelling across the globe to take part in this very special farewell.

CLASH photographer Rachel Lipsitz caught the action.
