Organizers of this year’s Iceland Airwaves have spoken about the current financial meltdown in Iceland, however they have urged fans they will not allow it to have any negative effects on their festival, confirming the show will go on.
This year’s event will be a 10 year anniversary for the festival, and is set to see CSS, Vampire Weekend, Biffy Clyro and Simian Mobile Disco among others playing. A spokesperson for the festival today urged “In spite of economical difficulties in Iceland at the moment, the festival will take place next week.The economical crisis does not affect the planning and promoting of the festival,Iceland not only has the best beer in Europe, it’s now also the cheapest Festival.”
Tickets for the Festival are still on sale, however the fans have been urged that “there are only a few tickets still available”.
