Now into its eighth year, the North East’s biggest music festival Evolution has expanded its bill adding The Human League and more.
Evolution is now the North East’s premiere music event. One of the first events on the festival calendar, the event takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend on the banks of the Tyne.
Using the iconic settings of Spillers Quay on Newcastle Quayside and Baltic Stage on Gateshead Quays, the event is one of the finest urban festivals in the UK.
Headlining the event this year will be The Human League. The new romantic legends scored a worldwide hit with ‘Don’t You Want Me?’ but their role as British pioneers of electronic music is assured.
The group will be joined by some top class up and coming talent. New additions to the bill include local groups Little Comets and The Chapman Family.
Festival director Jim Mawdsley said, “The Human League are a major coup for us and remain hugely relevant to today’s music scene. Many of the acts playing Evolution this year have been influenced by them and will be proud to be sharing the same stage.”
Evolution takes place in Newcastle and Gateshead between May 24th – 25th.
