Horrors For End Of The Road

Dorset festival expands again

Acclaimed Dorset based festival End Of The Road has confirmed a number of new acts for this summer’s event with garage goth types The Horrors set to drop by.

With the credit crunch nipping at everyone’s heels, it is heart warming to see small scale events battling through. The life blood of the music scene, boutique festivals are often more personal and simply better fun than their mammoth big city counterparts.

End Of The Road takes place in Larmer Tree Gardens in North Dorset, with the event grabbing a number of top names for this year’s bill. Already announced are the likes of post rock giants Explosions In The Sky, stopping by for a very special set.

Fleet Foxes released one of the best selling albums of 2008, with their pastoral Americana gaining massive word of mouth hype. A sterling live act, be sure to stop by End Of The Road to check out the band’s sensational harmonies.

Continually searching for new talent to showcase, the event is set to host a set by The Horrors. By now, everyone must know about the band’s new album ‘Primary Colours’ which has stunned critics with its breath taking display of ambition.

The band are currently honing their live chops on a full scale British tour, before hitting the festival calendar like Muhammad Ali’s fist. Having already confirmed sets at the likes of Glastonbury and T In The Park, The Horrors are the latest edition to this summer’s End Of The Road festival.

Festival founder, Simon Taffe, said: “Each year End of the Road has basically been as close as possible to a live party featuring all our current favourite bands. I absolutely love the new Horrors album and can’t wait to see them live – as Saturday nights go, this will be an amazing one.”

Also confirmed for the bill are Brighton group Brakes. Containing former members of British Sea Power and Electric Soft Parade, the band recently released their new album ‘Touchdown’. Possibly their most melodic and affecting record to date, ‘Touchdown’ is a leap forwards for this hugely talented band.
