Homegame Dates Revealed

Fence bash returns

Homegame festival is set to take place a little later this year, between May 6th – 8th.

Founded by King Creosote and The Pictish Trail, Fence Records is an odd little project in rural Scotland. Never ones to let location get in the way of ambition, the label has launched some household names.

The Fence back catalogue contains gems from James Yorkston, KT Tunstall and more with plenty lesser known gems to discovered. Once a year the Fence family re-unites for Homegame, with the first details of the 2011 instalment being confirmed.

Held in the East Neuk of Fife, Homegame is an astonishing mixture of geography, music and atmosphere. Each year sees Fence mainstays meet some close friends, often resulting in some special performances.

ClashMusic was in attendance last year, and came away with some cherished memories. Jon Hopkins, Four Tet and more performed with special performances from up and coming Scots such as Meursault.

This year Homegame will be held slightly later than usual, with the Fife bash taking place between May 6th – 8th. In a statement The Pictish Trail said: “You’ll notice that this is much later in the year than normal. There are reasons for this, which i’ll not go into now. But, believe me, it’s for your own good.”

Last year Homegame downsized, in order to prevent the festival spiralling out of control. This time round the event will grow once more, with performances taking place in the villages of Anstruther and Cellardyke.

As ever, demand for tickets is ferocious. The Pictish Trail explains: “As you may recall, we permitted pre-orders from those who bought full-tickets for our Hallowe’en event last year – and we are going to honour that commitment.”

“Those of you who signed up to the Home Game Offer will be receiving details today on how to pay for the amount of tickets you requested. Payment must be received and processed by 3pm (GMT) on Friday 21st January, so don’t piss about.”

Signing off, the festival boss refused to be drawn on the exact details of the line up. “We’re not going to reveal the line-up, the venues, the schedule or anything like that. No. Not yet. You’ll just have to trust us.”

Homegame takes place between May 6th – 8th.
