Legendary hip hop figure Guru is set to bring his jazz-hip hop project Jazmatazz to London for a one-off UK show in April.
The Gangstaar frontman will hit the capital’s Cargo venue on the 11th (April), which will see the rapper joined by a live brass section and MC Solar.
Dating back to 1993 when the first collection of Jazmatazz Vol 1 was released, the series of albums have seen Guru mixing live jazz elements with rapping and slick hip hop production spanning seven volumes – one of the first albums to do so upon its release.
The inclusion of MC Solar at the London shows will also be greeted well by fans, with Solar being instrumental in their sound, from guesting in Vol.1 right up to 2005’s ‘Version 7.0: The Street Scriptures’.
