Guns N Roses singer Axl Rose threatened to walk offstage during a show in Peru recently, after being pelted with objects.
Guns N Roses were once labelled ‘the most dangerous group on the planet’. Their filthy rock riffs were matched by bad boy behaviour which saw the band taunt fans until they reached breaking point.
A series of late appearances and no shows resulted in riots, with Guns N Roses becoming one of the most notorious acts around. Splintering in the mid 90s, the band seem to have retained their allure of danger.
Recently visiting South America, Guns N Roses were forced to stop a show in Peru after singer Axl Rose was struck by objects thrown from the crowd.
Performing in Lima, Guns N Roses halted the show and called a translator onstage. Speaking to the crowd, Axl Rose said: “If you wanna throw shit, we will leave”.
“We would like to stay and have fun with you for a long time tonight. So we’re gonna have fun? Let’s try that again.”
The band took to the stage several hours later, leaving fans waiting until well after midnight for the first track. Support band Sebastian Bach completed his set at 11pm, with trouble starting soon after.
The incident is the latest spot of bad luck to befall Axl Rose, who is still recovering from a court case sparked by an incident at a Los Angeles airport. On Friday (March 26th) it emerged that former manager Irving Azoff was planning to sue the singer for nearly $2 million.
