Canadian artist Grimes has confirmed plans for a full European tour later this year.
Montreal is a law unto itself. The city remains apart from mainstream Canadian life, clinging onto its French heritage despite centuries of centralisation. Little wonder, then, that the city’s arts scene can produce someone like Grimes.
A distinct, self-contained artist Grimes gained plaudits as 2011 drew to a close. Currently preparing her highly anticipated debut album ‘Visions’, the Canadian musician has confirmed plans for a lengthy European tour.
Pushing its way around the continent for a total of six weeks, the tour contains a brief visit to the UK. Grimes will open the tour in Bristol on May 6th, before travelling up to Glasgow and Leeds for one off shows.
Returning to London, Grimes is due to unveil her debut album ‘Visions’ within the confines of XOYO. Taking place on May 9th, the tour then ends with a one off show at Mancheter’s Islington Mill.
Tickets are on sale now.
