Green Man 2024: Weather + Traffic

The festival prepares to open its gates...

Green Man is set to fling opens its gates this week – and the final weather report is in.

The Welsh event has won numerous plaudits over the years, and this year’s line-up more than matches its lofty standards. American group Big Thief touch down for a high profile slot, alongside performances from Mercury winner Sampha, Jon Hopkins, sleaford mods, and more.

Noise rock gurus The Jesus and Mary Chain will hit Green Man, with the line-up also finding room for Arlo Parks, lauded jazz outfit Ezra Collective, and Mount Kimbie.

Running between August 15th to 18th, the festival looks to be – fingers crossed! – set for dry, settled weather according to the Met Office.

August 15th boasts a light breeze and highs of 19 degrees Celsius, with some cloud cover; August 16th finds clear blue skies and highs of 20 degrees Celsius, with the breeze slackening off.

August 17th continues the sunshine, with the temperature dipping slightly to 18 degrees Celsius. Sunday – August 18th – allows the festival to end on a high, with temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius, little cloud cover, and small amount of breeze.

In terms of traffic, the AA report no major incidents or blockages on the Welsh roads to the camp site.

If you’re travelling by rail, the closest station is Abergavenny, with regular shuttle buses running to and from the site. If you are coming from London / The East, connecting trains from Newport get very crowded. You may find it easier to travel to Hereford and change there.
