Blur guitarist turned solo star Graham Coxon has confirmed a special London show as part of the Transgressive anniversary shows.
Graham Coxon has taken fans on a merry ride this year. In addition to the huge Blur re-union shows the guitarist has crafted one of the most unique records of his career.
Inspired by ground breaking folk records from the 60s and 70s ‘The Spinning Top’ was a concept album, telling the story of a man from birth to death. Hugely ambitious, the album received warm reviews from fans and critics.
Recently the songwriter confirmed details of a number of special new shows with a host of guests. Graham Coxon will be joined by many musicians from the album, with cult singer Robyn Hitchcock among the lengthy cast.
Now the Blur guitarist is set to join label Transgressive’s birthday celebrations. One of the most influential indies in British music, the imprint is set to turn 5 years old with a series of special shows.
Coxon will support headliners Johnny Flynn at a sold out show in London’s Union chapel on Saturday (September 26th).
Also playing are friend of ClashMusic Jeremy Warmsley, Mechanical Bride and Dan Michaelson & The Coastguards.
Twee-punk trio Young Knives are set to headline a show at London’s iconic Heaven nightclub on Thursday (September 24th) while labelmates Foals are set to headline the same venue on Friday (September 25th).
