Grace Jones, Pavement Top Fantastic bluedot Festival Line Up

Award-winning event returns...

Grace Jones is set to headline this year’s bluedot festival.

The multi award-winning festival is located in the shadow of the Jodrell Bank observatory, a truly unique setting for live music. The sixth edition pulls out all the stops, with music icon Grace Jones set to headline bluedot’s main stage.

It’ll be her only Northern show of the summer, and it follows Grace Jones’ acclaimed stint at curator for Southbank’s Meltdown festival last year.

Joining Grace Jones on the bill are Pavement, who will play bluedot as part of a UK exclusive performance. A truly seminal group, the band’s recent UK tour was rapturously received, and this marks a rare opportunity to catch Pavement live in 2023.

Elsewhere, you’ll be able to catch club queen Roisin Murphy, while Leftfield will build on the momentum of their recent studio album with a bluedot slot.

Mercury winners Young Fathers will perform at the event, alongside Swedish group Little Dragon, Django Django, club heroine Annie Mac, caustic wordsmith Baxter Dury, and Dry Cleaning.

The festival boasts an opening concert on July 20th, with Thursday night headlined by modern classical composer Max Richter. A truly incredible talent, he brings VOICES and Recomposed to this very special event, which is available as part of a weekend ticket, or as a stand-alone pass.

Alongside this, bluedot also develops a roster of science talks and demonstrations, including BBC Sky At Night hosts Christ Lintott and Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Braniac Live, and renowned climate change researcher and author, Mike Berners Lee.

Festival director Ben Robinson comments: “As we announce the line-up for the sixth edition of bluedot it’s with great pride in the team behind the show. From day one the festival has been ambitious in its programming and mission. Looking at the scale of iconic talent, breadth of genres and one off moments it really has matured into a very special vent. Thanks to everyone who’s continued to support the idea of bluedot, we look forward to gathering together again beneath the telescope with you all.”

Tickets for bluedot 2023 go on sale from 10am this Friday (January 27th).
