Iconic disco diva Grace Jones is set to play a typically lavish show at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Model. Actress. Singer. Bond girl. Grace Jones has been there, done that and worn the (designer) t-shirt.
The performer made her name at Studio 54, one of the most recognisable faces at the disco superclub. Becoming a notable performer in her own right, Grace Jones merged a striking androgynous appearance with some superb collaborations.
Taking a break from music, the singer let almost a decade go by between album releases. Returning in 2008, Grace Jones announced her comeback with a spectacular appearance at Bestival.
Working with Oscar winning designer Eiko Ishioka on a lavish new tour, Grace Jones then launched an ambitious world tour. Featuring material from throughout her career alongside costume changes and striking visuals the shows merged art, fashion and music.
The sold out ‘Hurricane’ tour last year was an enormous success, with Grace Jones now set to follow this with a very special one off show.
Held in the confines of London’s Royal Albert Hall, the new production debuted recently at the Hollywood Bowl. Grace Jones is due to perform at the historic venue on April 26th, with tickets available shortly.
Soon after this, Grace Jones is due to open unique collaboration with groundbreaking light artist Chris Levine. ‘Stillness At The Speed Of Light’ is due to open on April 29th, with the portraits available to view for some time after.
