Goldfrapp For Melt! Festival

German event adds more names

Award winning German festival Melt! is set to play host to Goldfrapp, Kele Okereke and more.

Ferropolis is an enormous site in the heart of Germany’s industrial wasteland. Spread across several miles are huge earth movers, dotted around a post-apocalyptic landscape. A suitable place for a music festival then!

Set against this stunning backdrop, Melt! is a truly unique event. With an eclectic line up the music more than matches the jaw dropping setting, mixing well known names with hotly tipped newcomers.

Returning this summer, organisers have just announced a series of new additions to the line up. British electro-pop group Goldfrapp are set to perform, fresh from the success of their new album.

Slightly older yet just as filthy, Goldfrapp’s new album ‘Head First’ is a stunning return. The production is clearer, the songs are stronger and the beats are that bit more crisp.

Due to drop by Germany for a special performance, Goldfrapp will be joined by Bloc Party singer Kele Okereke. Set to play a series of solo shows this summer, ‘Kele’ will unveil material from his forthcoming solo album.

Also due to perform are Norwegian duo Kings Of Convenience, whose new album proves that quite remains the new loud. Hushed harmonies and gentle folk picking will abound, with the duo set to show Fleet Foxes a thing or two about dulcet songcraft.

Meanwhile, German bass monsters Modeselektor are due to host an entire stage of goodies. Expect performances from Jamie XX, Black Rose, Martyn vs Kode9 and many more.

Melt! Festival takes place between July 16th – 18th.
