This summer’s instalment of legendary music event Glastonbury is now completely sold out.
To label Glastonbury as a music festival is a bit of a dis-service to the efforts of Michael Eavis and company. More a cultural event, it combines live theatre, wonderful and a host of other attractions which mean you could probably avoid every musician that comes your way and still have a great weekend.
However Glastonbury endured a torrid time last year, with heavy criticism thrown at the event due to a poor ticketing strategy and a controversial bill. This time round, the festival has gone smoothly with the last few thousands tickets going on sale this morning.
According to a statement given to NME, those briefs sold out within hours. The sell out is in distinct contrast to last year’s event when Glastonbury only sold out when the festival gates were opened.
The bill for this summer’s festival is simply mouth-watering. American legend Bruce Springsteen is set to make his first appearance at the event, in which is bound to be one of the most talked about performances of the summer.
Joining The Boss on the bill is legendary songwriter Neil Young, while close friends Crosby, Stills And Nash are also due to perform.
The full bill reads like a roll call of British indie heavyweights. Blur are set to play what will no doubt be an emotional set, while Franz Ferdinand are due to seal their comeback with a storming performance at the Somerset event.
Glastonbury takes place between June 26th – 28th.
