Glastonbury Line Up Announced

More surprises from Worthy Farm

Enigmatic, brilliant and bonkers Glastonbury has announced the full line up for this summer’s event, which promises to be one of the finest in its long history.

Stretching back almost four decades, Glastonbury has weathered the storms (sometimes literally) of the British festival season. Surviving time and trend, the Somerset event reigns supreme in Britain due to its friendly atmosphere and awesome array of festivities.

Amid the mime troupes, trapaze artists and sundry others talented visitors lie some of the planet’s finest musical talent. Bruce Springsteen released his album ‘Working On A Dream’ earlier this year, a massive global hit inspired by his stint on the campaign trail with Brack Obama.

The Boss is due to drop by for his first ever Glastonbury performance, one of only a handful of festival appearances the musician will be making. Joining Springsteen is fellow North American maverick Neil Young, who is also set to perform at the Worthy Farm event.

Young is famed for his collaborations with Crosby, Stills And Nash, with the hippy trio also set to drop by Glastonbury to impart some good vibes.

But it’s not all the golden oldies who impress on the this year’s line up. Blur have reformed for their first shows in almost a decade, and the band aim to prove just how vital their music remains with a no doubt emotional headline slot.

Opening on the Thursday (June 25th) Glastonbury will be rocked by a headline performance by Maximo Park. The Geordie types can dry their tears after Newcastle United’s feeble display at the weekend by opening the William Green stage to an audience of early arrivers.

Amongst the other big names confirmed to perform at this summer’s Glastonbury festival are The Specials, Lily Allen, White Lies, The View and Kanye West protege Mr Hudson.

Some mysteries remain however. The Pyramid Stage on Friday (June 26th) has a slot named ‘special guests’ – who could they be? Suggestions below…
