Glastonbury 2024: Is The Festival Showing Euro 2024 Matches?

Some fans will be torn...

Glastonbury Festival is swinging into gear – but will football crazy fans be able to watch Euro 2024 matches on-site…?

The festival covers virtually every form of expression imaginable, ranging from huge Pyramid Stage headline slots through to comedy, theatre, discussion, and beyond. With after-hours activities stretching long into the night, Worthy Farm truly has something for everyone.

One question remains, however: will Glastonbury show the Euro 2024 games?

It’s a question of particular relevance to English readers, with England set to play one Last-16 game over the Glastonbury weekend. As it currently stands, however, there are no plans to show the game on-site, preferring instead to focus on the scheduled cultural activities – which, in truth, is pretty fair.

In a short statement, the Glastonbury team wrote:

“Should England or Scotland’s men’s teams qualify from the group stages of this summer’s European Football Championships in Germany, their matches in the Last 16 of the tournament could take place on the Saturday or Sunday evening of this year’s Festival,” they wrote.

“However, with England and Scotland’s Last 16 matches potentially clashing with headline sets at this year’s Festival, the decision has been made that – as in 2014 and 2016 – should England or Scotland qualify from their groups, their Last 16 matches will not be shown at the Festival.”

We’re fairly sure enterprising football addicts will find ways to watch the game – whether it’s on their phone, or a portable smuggled on to the camping site. If England top Group C, they’ll face off against the third placed team in group D/E/F at 5PM on Sunday, June 30th. Equally, if England finish second, they’ll face the winners of Group A on June 29th (Saturday night) at 8pm UK time.
