Glastonbury has opened to spots of rain and sunny spells as the gates of Worthy Farm swing open.
One of the biggest festivals in Europe, Glastonbury is about much more than the music. The atmosphere is extremely liberal, with fans able to soak up alternative culture without venturing close to the main stage.
The weather has been subject of much debate, with many differing predictions being made. ClashMusic has sent along Matt Bennett to report throughout the weekend, and as he was setting up his tent yesterday (June 22nd) the poor boy managed to get soaked and then fried in the sun.
Extremely varied, campers have been arriving to spots of rain as well as spells of sunshine. The music across Glastonbury starts tonight (June 23rd) with the larger stages opening on Friday (June 24th).
Fans can expect wet weather for the opening few days, with music fans set to get soaked by heavy showers. The Met Office is predicting unsettled weather, and despite sunny spells fans can expect to get a little wet.
The ground underfoot is already muddy in many places, with some obviously fearing a return to the swamps of yore. However the weather will improve throughout the weekend, with Glastonbury set to enjoy bright periods on Sunday (June 23rd).
Sunday should remain dry, with temperatures across the weekend set to average out at a not unreasonable 20 degrees Celsius.
As ever, the focus is on the Pyramid stage where headline performances will come from U2, Coldplay and Beyonce. Elsewhere, the line up includes appearances from Queens Of The Stone Age, Morrissey, Elbow and more.
Glastonbury runs between June 24th – 26th.
