Glastonbury has begun its campaign for the 2009 festival season with the announcement that tickets for next year’s event will go on sale in October.
Michael Eavis and co. have changed the ticket sales policy after some confusion amongst the public this year. Festival fans can reserve a place for a £50 deposit, and then pay the full amount on April 1st – so if you don’t get a ticket, you may feel quite foolish!
Those who decide against paying the full amount on April 1st will face a £10 charge. Overall, tickets to this year’s event cost £160, including administration fee. next year’s event will apparently cost more, an increase due in part to the 2008 event’s struggle to produce a decent turnover, despite the presence of Kings Of Leon. Ticket sales were slow, and as a result the festival had to make cuts in charitable donations.
Tickets for Glastonbury 2009 will go on sale in October. As usual, headliners will not be announced until just before the event kicks off.
