Girls are set to play a five day British tour this November, including some massive headline shows.
Released their debut LP ‘Album’ back in 2009, Girls were a shambolic mixture of jagged riffs and golden melodies. Flailing between triumph and tragedy, the album nonetheless alerted fans to a vivid pop songwriter.
Follow up EP ‘Broken Dreams Club’ dropped last year, charting the band’s progress. Taking time off, the always productive San Francisco group have now completed work on their second album.
‘Father, Son, Holy Ghost’ will be released on September 12th, and promises to be the band’s most accomplished record yet. Gradually wearing down those rough edges, Girls are approaching the new album with no small degree of confidence.
With new material in their locker, Girls are now digging out their passports for a trip to the UK. Taking place in November, the band’s forthcoming dates include some potential massive headline shows.
Opening in Cardiff on November 8th, the band will visit Manchester and Glasgow before the tour wraps up in Nottingham. Taking place in the Rescue Rooms, the final date follows an epic London appearance.
The Electric Ballroom can potentially hold 1100 people, and Girls will be tasked with filling the venue. Taking place on November 9th, the show is perhaps the biggest of the band’s career to date.
Advance tickets for the forthcoming UK shows go on sale today (July 19th) from the band’s Facebook page where fans will be able to buy very limited Girls t-shirts when purchasing their passes.
UK and European tickets go on general sale from Thursday 21st July.
