Award winning Croatian musical bash Garden Festival is set to return with perhaps its best line up yet.
With the festival season set to kick off, there are some big hitters launching their line ups. Yet for every Glastonbury or T In The Park there is a lesser known festival with some rather unexpected charms.
Take Garden Festival. Set on the coast of Croatia, the event has risen in recent years to garner a revered reputation from DJs, live acts and Gardeners from all over Europe. Gathering some of the finest dance acts around on a spectacular sun-kissed peninsular jutting into azure Adriatic waters helps create a unique, enriching and intoxicating atmosphere.
Live headliners include Breakestra feat Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), Crazy P and Henrik Schwarz. While Mr Scruff has been confirmed to return for 2010, debuts at this year’s Garden Festival include Killer Whale (The Arthur Russell Project), 2020 Soundsystem, Qool DJ Marv, Moodymann, Metro Area (Darshan Jesrani), The Revenge, Harri and Domenic, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Sebo K, Floating Points, Filthy Dukes and many more plus the return of Greg Wilson, AME, Dixon and Henrik Schwarz.
Joining the party are the likes of Trojan Sound System, Tensnake and variety of club sessions including El Diablos, Futurboogie and Electric Minds. Famed for their boat parties, this year’s Garden Festival has gathered a spectacular line up for the Argonaughty events. With crews including the likes of seminal Manchester DJ Greg Wilson and Subculture duo Harri and Domenic clubbers will be in safe hands.
Back on dry land the likes of Filthy Dukes, Terry Farley and London-based disco crew Horse Meat Disco are set to keep the crowds entertained. Festival founder Nick Colgan explains: “We’ve already got some cracking names down for the summer and we’re all really pleased the way it’s taking shape so far. There are some really exciting developments with the Argonaughty Boat parties and also Barbarellas Discotheque too.” Indeed, Argonaughty and Barbarellas Discotheque parties are set to entertain for the full two weeks of The Garden Festival.
To make the festival even more accessible to British Gardeners, the organisers have kick-started plans for a series of chartered flights from Manchester, taking fans direct from the North West to Zadar in Croatia. Email [email protected] to register your interest asap.
