Leicester event Summer Sundae Weekender has expanded its bill with Scottish group Frightened Rabbit set to perform.
Held in the grounds of Leicester’s historic De Montford Hall, Summer Sundae Weekender has grown into a massive family orientated event. With plenty of things for the kids to see and do, organisers have done everything they can to take the weight off parent’s shoulders.
This year the bill is defiantly eclectic. Indie folk stars Mumford And Sons are to headline, following a sold out tour of the UK in support of the runaway success of debut album ‘Sigh No More’.
Joining them are the likes of Local Natives, The Go! Team and even The Fall. Still sure about this family orientated atmosphere guys?
A raft of new additions have sweetened the deal, with organisers adding a series of exciting names to the line up. Scottish group Frightened Rabbit have captured critical plaudits with their superb third album ‘The Winter Of Mixed Drinks’.
Lacking the emotional turmoil of its predecessor, the album nonetheless contains some wonderful songwriting with markedly more mature arrangements.
Frightened Rabbit are set to be joined by The Low Anthem, as well as folktronica gurus Tunng. Sunderland punk-funk tykes The Futureheads are due to play, alongside Irish songwriter Fionn Regan.
Glasgow math rockers Errors will bring the noise, after the success of their second album. Combining jerky rhythms with exact electronic beats, the Rock Action group are a sizzling live act.
Summer Sundae Weekender takes place between August 13th – 15th.
