Friends have added a second London show after their date at the Lexington sold out in just a few days.
The bass line is a delicate art form. In the hands of, say, Bootsy Collins a great bass line can elevate an average song into the pantheon of the greats. Three minutes of street edged sass, Friends’ new single ‘I’m His Girl’ is heavy on the funky four string.
Tom Tom Club influences are clear, with the pop hooks on ‘I’m His Girl’ recalling Tina Weymouth. A stripped down party favourite, the single is out now with Friends rapidly tipped as ones to watch in 2012.
Set to play a one off London show on February 7th, the date at the Lexington has sold out within a few days. With demand far outstripping the tiny venue, Friends have quickly added a second show in the capital.
Taking place on February 8th, the show at the XOYO venue will see Friends debut material from their upcoming album. Check out the video for ‘I’m His Girl’ below, with full British dates listed after the jump…
