Friendly Fires have been forced to postpone two live appearances due to illness.
Returning with their second album ‘PALA’ Friendly Fires underline their ambitions. However the studio is only part of what the band does, with the St Albans trio bring their live show to ever larger venues.
Announcing a massive Autumn tour, Friendly Fires decided to up the ante. The band’s upcoming shows include some of their largest headline appearances yet, ending with three nights at the Brixton Academy.
The shows will see Friendly Fires play to over 36,000 people over thirteen nights as part of their biggest British tour to date.
Launching on Thursday (November 10th) the shows appear to have taken their toll already. Frontman Ed MacFarlane has fallen ill, with the trio forced to pull out of shows in Nottingham, Newcastle and Southampton.
A statement from the group reads: “With deep regret we are having to postpone our Nottingham and Newcastle shows this week as Ed’s voice is still recovering from laryngitis. Again, sorry to everyone who was looking forward to seeing us. We are in the process of rescheduling these dates as soon as possible.”
The next date on the tour takes place this Thursday (October 17th) in Manchester’s Apollo venue.
Meanwhile, new single ‘Blue Cassette’ is set to be released on December 5th. Coming equipped with a variety of remixes, Canadian producer Tiga is amongst those who have agreed to re-work the track.
