Franz Ferdinand For Open’er

Another headliner confirmed

Franz Ferdinand are due to headline this summer’s Heineken Open’er Festival.

Hidden away in Glasgow, Franz Ferdinand are working on strange new sounds. Sessions for the band’s fourth album are shrouded in secrecy, with the band so far refusing to give anything away.

However this summer fans are due to get a preview of their new material. Already confirmed to headline London one day event Field Day, Franz Ferdinand are now set to perform at Heineken Open’er.

One of the largest outdoor events in Eastern Europe, the Polish festival is set to welcome a set from the new Scottish gentry. Franz Ferdinand are the latest headliners to be confirmed for the festival, joining previously announced acts such as Björk, The xx and Justice.

Elsewhere, organisers have confirmed an appearance from SBTRKT. The masked mystery of post-dubstep, the producer dropped his long awaited debut album last year.

One of 2011’s most critically acclaimed long player’s, SBTRKT’s full length set blended pop melodies with adventurous production. Playing a number of live shows, the producer has managed to increase his profile without losing a sense of mystery.

Due to appear at Heineken Open’er, SBTRKT will be joined Polish popstress Julia Marcell with many more additions to the line up being kept under wraps for the time being.

Tickets are on sale now.

Heineken Open’er runs between July 4th – 7th.
