Frank Turner To Play Wembley

Green Day support slots announced

Hardcore troubadour Frank Turner has confirmed two enormous support slots with Green Day.

Frank Turner has done his tour of duty of the British punk underground. Lead singer with Million Dead the frontman combined this with a love of acoustic music.

Turning solo, Frank Turner’s commitment to DIY principles has led to him becoming a cult hero. Touring the country, the singer began his solo career booking his own shows and sleeping on friends’ couches.

Now the frontman is set to swap this for two enormous shows. Frank Turner has been chosen to support Green Day on their upcoming British tour, with the singer set to perform in front of several thousand people.

Playing shows in Manchester and London, the combined attendance of the dates comes to over a hundred thousand fans.

A massive undertaking! Frank Turner is apparently overwhelmed by the opportunity, with the Oxford singer due to perform alongside Green Day and fellow support act Joan Jett And The Blackhearts.

Recent completing a tour of China, Frank Turner is due to play an array of festivals this summer. With his new single ‘Try This At Home’ due for release in August, the summer could yet belong to the hardcore troubadour.

In addition to the Green Day shows the singer is planning to appear at Latitude, T In The Park, Glastonbury (twice!) and elsewhere. With an American jaunt in the works, Frank Turner is taking his music to the world.

Frank Turner has confirmed the following shows:

June
16 Manchester LCCC
19 London Wembley Stadium
