Foo Fighters Arrange Milton Keynes Shows

Two enormous gigs planned

Foo Fighters have confirmed that they are to play two enormous shows at the Milton Keynes Bowl next year.

Formed by Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters have risen to become one of the biggest rock groups on the planet. Matching powerful riffs with an assured pop touch, the band have sold countless million records across the globe.

Yet recently, Foo Fighters have been doing… not very much. The band took a break in 2008, only reforming for some special promo appearances last year to toast a label-obliged ‘Greatest Hits’ package.

Dave Grohl has been focussing on his work with Them Crooked Vultures, recording a titanic debut album with Josh Homme and one time Led Zeppelin bass player John Paul Jones.

However the latest news from the Foo Fighters camp is that the band are set to break cover in 2011. A statement from the group revealed that two enormous shows are planned for next summer.

Taking control of the Milton Keynes Bowl, over 100,000 fans are set to descend on the enormous English stadium. Taking place on July 2nd and 3rd, the band will be joined by an all star support cast.

Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro will perform at both shows, with the trio capable of filling arenas in their own right. Set to play Wembley later this year, even the Biffy must step aside for Grohl & Co.

Elsewhere, Death Cab For Cutie are set to play on July 2nd alongside Australian rockers Tame Impala. The following day, American outfit Jimmy Eat World are set to warm up the crowds alongside Supergrass side project The Hot Rats.

Tempted? Tickets for the two shows go on sale from 9am next Friday (November 5th).
