Foals have been confirmed as the headliners for an epic New Year’s Eve party.
Foals have enjoyed a stunning comeback this year. The band’s superb debut album ‘Antidotes’ was always going to be a difficult act to follow, spawning a generation of math rock copyists on the day of its release.
However with ‘Total Life Forever’ the band eclipsed their debut. Retreating to Sweden, Foals are able to move beyond their influences, constructing something which was ambitious in scale and execution.
Widely hailed, the album spawned the single ‘Spanish Sahara’. Touring across the country and beyond, Foals ended the summer with a Mercury nomination and a host of festival appearances.
Now the band have confirmed plans for a New Year party. Foals are set to headline The Flowerpot’s massive December 31st show at the Forum in London, topping a no doubt stellar bill.
Acclaimed promoters, the Flowerpot team held a show last year which featured some now familiar faces. Acts such as Mumford & Sons, Everything Everything and Johnny Flynn played and by sheer coincidence all three have gone on to dominate music in 2010.
Last year’s party was an enormous success, with fans making merry until the wee small hours. An enormous balloon drop kick started 2010, with live performances intermingled with DJ sets.
Running between 8pm and 4am the Flowerpot crew will present an array of established acts, newcomers and top DJs. The full line up will be confirmed closer to the time, with Blissfields set to host the second room at the Forum.
