Legendary rock group Fleetwood Mac could be set to tour the UK in September.
Despite their vintage, Fleetwood Mac remain record breaking concert draws. Capable of filling arenas across the globe, the band recently outlined plans to take their live show across North America. European fans immediately felt left out, and rumours gathered of a potential Glastonbury slot.
Since ruled out, Fleetwood Mac have now hinted at a UK tour this Autumn. Speaking to 6Music, drummer Mick Fleetwood said: "We're doing a big world tour that starts in April. We're coming here [the UK] in September, October and maybe a bit longer. We're doing a lot of work here so we are coming".
In yet more exciting news, the percussionist revealed that a new album could be in the pipeline. "We decided, myself and Lindsey (Buckingham), went into the studio and created a calling card for Stevie (Nicks) letting her know we wanted to make new music. We had the greatest time and we made some really good music. Then her mother died and it wasn't time for her to be singing" he said. "Just recently though she has sung on three of them and we've recorded one original song of hers. So, we're going to go crazy and there will be something out that we will play onstage and that might become part of a long term plan over the next year. Our wish is going to come true and we will finish an album. I hope there is a demand for it, after we throw two or three songs out on the internet, and we might make an album."
Elsewhere, Fleetwood Mac's re-issued album 'Rumours' is set to climb the charts this weekend. Perennially popular, mid week figures from the Official Chart Company indicate that the LP could re-enter the Top Ten.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, singer Stevie Nicks revealed that the record remains one of her favourite to perform. "The songs morph a little bit every time we do them" she said. "Instrumentally, they morph. 'Gold Dust Woman' is sometimes Indian. Sometimes it's just rock & roll. It travels, and all these songs do that. To me, they are always exciting. I never feel bored when we burst into one of our big hit songs, because what they were all written about was so heavy that they could never be boring."
