Alex Turner’s new group Last Of The Shadow Puppets are set to make their live debut at this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals, it has been announced.
The group, centred around Turner and Rascals’ frontman Miles Kane, have yet to play live save a special performance on Later… With Jools Holland. The band’s debut album “The Age Of The Understatement” is a singular delight, recalling the grandiose pop of Scott Walker.
The band will co-headline a stage with fellow Northerners The Cribs, and the event will surely be one of the highlights of the festival season. The Last Shadow Puppets will play Reading on August 22nd, and Leeds on August 24th.
