First Aid Kit Confirm Massive 2010 Tour

Swedish duo hit the road

Swedish indie pop duo First Aid Kit have confirmed details of their biggest UK tour to date.

A much neglected musical area, Scandinavia has been responsible for some stunning records over the past few years. Sure, the area might be best known for producing ABBA but even they had a few tunes.

No, in recent times Scandinavia has excelled in producing bittersweet indie pop that mixes glorious melody with heartbreaking tales of love lost. First Aid Kit are the next in the this lineage, with Klara and Johanna Söderberg letting their harmonies mingle over some stunning pop tracks.

Gathering a cult following with their irreverent takes on pop classics, First Aid Kit have given fans free downloads on hugely popular cuts by artists such as Donovan and more.

The duo released a handful of singles throughout 2009 which have whetted appetites for more of their sterling songcraft. Back in February First Aid Kit left music fans trailing in their wake with release of the EP ‘Drunken Trees’.

Originally released on The Knife’s Rabid Records, the duo was swiftly picked up in the UK by Wichita Recordings, who are set to release First Aid Kit’s full length debut.

Titled ‘The Big Black And Blue’ the album is due to be released on January 25th. First Aid Kit will launch the album with a special show at the Old Queens Head on December 7th, before returning to Blighty for lengthy Spring tour.
