Festival Corona Capital Returns

Mexican event launches

Festival Corona Capital has launched, naming the first names on the line up for 2012’s instalment.

The festival season is now an international event. The Clash team are sending reporters far and wide this summer, with the past few weeks finding reports being filed from Poland, Croatia, France and.. erm.. the Isle of Eigg.

Mexico is the latest country to attract our attention. Festival Corona Capital is attracting attention far beyond Central America, with latest details of the line up finding fans checking out booking costs.

Mixing homegrown talent with internationally respected artists, Festival Corono Capital will welcome The Black Keys to Mexico. The Akron duo have found enormous success with their brand of stripped back blues, and the pair will take to the stage full of confidence.

Elsewhere, the British contingent are led by Factory icons New Order. Reforming last year, the seminal Mancs have impressed with a series of high profile sets which delve deep into their back catalogue.

Suede will also be on hand, while Florence & The Machine, Franz Ferdinand and more have been added to the line up.

German dance titans Modeselektor will perform at the Mexican event, while LCD Soundsystem lynchpin James Murphy is set to play a special DJ set. Alabama Shakes will appear at the festival, with The Walkmen, Iron & Wine, Sleigh Bells, The Drums, Major Lazer, Cat Power and more due to appear.

Festival Corono Capital runs between October 13th – 14th. Follow the event on Facebook HERE.
