Fence Records Unveil Eye O’ The Dug

New event from Scottish collective

Scottish collective Fence Records have unveiled plans for new two date event Eye O’ The Dug.

Fence have always been about much more than just releases. A loose knit collective, the community feel which runs through the label has been fostered by almost a decade’s worth of live shows.

Set to run the second instalment of their island based event Away Game this summer, Fence Records have now unveiled plans for a new festival.

Eye O’ The Dug is spread across two days, and finds Fence returning to St Andrews. The Fife town which originally birthed Fence, St Andrews is now better known as the place which gave the world Kate ‘n’ Wills.

Ignoring that, the Fife community is a beautiful Scottish town which boasts some stunning architecture. Eye O’ The Dug will use venues across the town, with music events running throughout the day.

As ever, Fence are keeping the line up under wraps. However past instalments of Home Game have seen the core collective – King Creosote, Pictish Trail, James Yorkston et al – joined by everyone from Four Tet to The Bluebells.

Tickets will go on general sale on Monday 30th January 2012, at 12noon. Eye O’ The Dug is restricted to over 16s, while a special offer for St Andrews students only will be made available in February.

A quote from The Pictish Trail: “As with all Fence events, the line-up isn’t going to be revealed just yet. However, rest assured it will be as special as every other Fence bash … in fact, maybe just a wee bit more special. You’ll just have to wait’n’see what we’ve got hidden up our sleeves!”

Eye O’ The Dug runs between April 14th – 15th.

Quick aside – the term Eye O’ The Dug is taken from a King Biscuit Time lyric and refers to the town of St Andrews itself.
