EXIT Festival Sold Out

Legendary Serbian bash returns

Legendary Serbian festival EXIT has sold out all its four day advance tickets, with a limited number of day tickets available to purchase at the gates.

Founded as a protest against a repressive government, EXIT allows the vivid imagination of the Serbian people to be captured in full flow. The relatively relaxed brand of Communism practised in Yugoslavia had led to a thriving arts scene, which was then clamped down upon by Milosevic.

Begun by students, artists, free thinkers and liberal minded types EXIT has become one of Europe’s most spectacular events. Held in the shadow of the 17th century Petrovaradin fortress it boasts a truly stunning location and an incomparable atmosphere.

Organisers have just announced that all four day advance tickets have sold out, with a limited number of day passes kept behind for sale on the gate. Those with entrance to the site who have not yet bought camping tickets should hurry – a limited number remain, but even those are going fast.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary, this year’s event boasts some brilliants performers. Arctic Monkeys are set to unveil their third album ‘Humbug’ at the event, with the Sheffield indie giants being joined a host of great performers.

The Prodigy will bring with them a touch of the classic rave era, their odes to civil disobedience finding a natural home in Serbia. Lily Allen will sing her naughty ditties while Manic Street Preachers are set to return to the event.

EXIT contains a renowned dance arena, considered by some to be the best on the planet. This year organisers have out done themselves with a series of back to back DJ battles. On the line up this summer as the likes of Carl Cox vs Green Velvet, Sasha vs John Digweed, Richie Hawtin vs Dubfire, Eric Prydz vs Adam Beyer, Sander Kleinenberg vs Darren Emerson and many more.

Considering the event’s standing in the dance world perhaps it’s better to simply list who isn’t there!

A sensational event that deserves all the plaudits that have been thrown its way, EXIT looks set to celebrate its anniversary in some style.

EXIT festival takes place between July 9th – 12th.
