Evolution Festival 2012 Line Up

Dizzee Rascal, deadmau5 and more...

The initial line up for Newcastle’s Evolution festival has been unveiled, with Dizzee Rascal, deadmau5 and more.

Held at Newcastle’s quayside, Evolution has fast become one of the North East’s largest outdoor festivals. Returning in 2012, the event will run across the Diamond Jubilee weekend with the initial line up being confirmed this morning (February 16th).

Grime pioneer turned mainstream phenomenon Dizzee Rascal will mark his return with a set at Evolution. Now a festival favourite, the MC has honed his live set to match larger capacity shows across Europe and beyond.

Due to drop past Evolution, Dizzee Rascal will be joined by Canadian electro producer deadmau5. One of the biggest selling electronic artists on the planet, the mask-clad beatsmith is set to journey to the banks of the Tyne.

Hometown favourites Maximo Park will also perform, with the band currently hard at work in the studio on their new album. Noah & The Whale are also set to appear at Evolution, with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs also preparing to unveil his debut LP.

Post-dubstep producer SBTRKT released one of 2011’s defining albums, and the reclusive producer has agreed to perform at Evolution.
