Everything Everything Launch Album

With anarchic London show

Manchester indie newcomers Everything Everything have launched their debut album ‘Man Alive’.

In the space of a year Everything Everything have become one of the most talked about new groups in the country. Mixing indie rock with elements of electronica, their breathless ambition has won a cult following.

Recent single ‘My Kz Yr Bf’ mixed an ultra-catchy melody with falsetto vocals, a sign of individuality bordering on the absurd. Everything Everything have completed work on their debut album, which they launched at the weekend.

Titled ‘Man Alive’ the debut offering by the Manchester band is far from flawless, but contains an irresistible energy. Even when the band are getting things wrong the album remains infectious.

Playing a handful of instores last week to launch the album, Everything Everything also held a tiny London launch party. The band performed at an intimate Fly Presents show, taking to the stage at Camden’s Barfly.

Everything Everything dressed in white boiler suits, echoing the uniform of the anarchist group the Wombles. The hugely energetic show saw the band perform the whole of their debut album, before taking to the decks for the rest of the night.

Finishing with ‘NASA Is On Your Side’ the quickfire set saw Everything Everything bring ‘Man Alive’ to London. With word spreading on the band, singer Jonathan Everything explained to the NME that the album was almost given a rather unusual title.

“I looked at all the lyrics and tried to pick a title out from that,” the singer explained. “For a long time we thought ‘Taj Mahal’ was a really good title.”

The album has been a huge critical success, with some unusual fans coming out of the word work. Manchester lads themselves, reformed boy band Take That have revealed that they are huge fans of Everything Everything.

‘Man Alive’ is out now.
