Remember when we reported on the ‘final’ confirmed acts for this year’s Clash-partnered Dour Festival? Yeah? Well, we kinda fibbed. Didn’t mean to, honest!
The Belgian bash – four days, six stages, good times – has confirmed a few more names, just to tip the balance towards ‘OMFG Let’s Go!’ amongst those previously uncertain of whether to attend.

One of the most important East Coast rap bands will be at Dour this year. Since the late ‘80s, Erick Sermon and Parrish Smith have been defining the underground hip-hop sound in New York, gaining a few gold records on the way. They brought funk and rock influences to their heavy beats and coupled it with a straight and direct flow. After a nine-year break the duo is back with a new album ‘We Mean Business’, and they’re bringing their unique sound to Dour.
Friendly Fires
Friendly Fires mix dance and pop with a knack for addictive melodies – there’s a fair chance you might just’ve heard of them, what with the irresistible addictiveness of singles ‘Skeleton Boy’, ‘On Board’ and, of course, ‘Paris’. Expect a live set full of energy, and don’t forget your dancing shoes!
Held on July 16-19, Dour Festival celebrates its 21st year in 2009, presenting a bill to rival (well, better) almost any other line-up on the continent. Animal Collective, Aphex Twin, The Horrors, …Trail of Dead, Roots Manuva, Dillinger Escape Plan, Late Of The Pier, Diplo, Jamie Lidell, Joker, 65daysofstatic, Isis… the list is amazing. And you can WIN TICKETS by just clicking HERE.
Should any of the more obscure acts on the full bill – find it on the OFFICIAL WEBSITE, alongside full travel information – leave you puzzled, perhaps this will help: Dour has compiled a series of mash-up videos, featuring all the bands playing the festival. Click HERE for the content.
Maybe we’ll see you out there…
