Mercury award winning group Elbow have been added to the bill for this year’s Benicassim festival.
Located on the coast of Spain, somewhere near the north of Valencia, Benicassim has grown to become one of Europe’s top events. Now fourteen years old the festival stretches over four days and includes some of the biggest names in music.
This year’s headliners include Oasis, making a rare festival appearance. The group have restricted where they will perform this summer, due to a massive British stadium tour. Joining the mouthy Mancs are Kings Of Leon, who have joined the ranks of the world’s biggest groups with their latest album ‘Only By The Night’.
Also on the bill are returning Scots indie stars Franz Ferdinand. Their long awaited third album ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand’ finally dropped earlier this year, and was immediately hailed as an ambitious and adventurous work.
New additions to the line up include Elbow. The long term cult favourites won the Mercury Music Prize with their album ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’ almost immediately making them household names.
Geordie types Maximo Park are also on the comeback trail, and will be taking their eagerly waited new material with them to Benicassim. Also set to make the trip are The Walkmen, Lykke Li and many more.
Benicassim takes place between July 16th – 19th.
