Editors For Berlin Festival

Host of new additions

Gloomy British stadium giants Editors are amongst the latest additions to the line up of Berlin Festival.

Germany’s music scene has always been deeply divisive. For every cliché of harbouring turgid Europop, the nation has also given birth to deeply influential groups such as Kraftwerk, Neu! and Can.

Over the past decade Germany has emerged as the home of European techno, with Berlin in particular standing out as a centre of excellence. Boasting a rich and varied music scene, the city is set to hold a spectacular festival this summer.

Taking place in the German capital, headliners are set to include New York dance punks LCD Soundsystem. Due to release their third (and final) album this summer, the set will no doubt be an emotional affair.

Other headliners include Scandinavian side project Fever Ray, Caribou and Belgian beat boffins 2ManyDJs.

New additions to the bill include Editors, whose new album ‘In This Light And On This Evening’ has been an enormous success. The band are a striking live act, with Tom Smith’s booming voice acting as a pivot for the group’s music.

Set to play at Berlin Festival, Editors will be joined by Bristol trip hop whisperer Tricky, with Blood Red Shoes also due to perform.

New York anti-folk star Adam Green is due to drop by, with more names due to be added over the summer.

Berlin Festival takes place between September 10th – 11th.
