Chart smashing indie act Editors are amongst the big names confirmed for Bingley Music Live this summer.
With the credit crunch snapping at their heels, festivals are under more pressure than ever to live up to the billing. Frequently now, events are described as having a ‘small town feel’ – but Bingley Music Live goes one better, actually taking place in a small town.
Held in rural Yorkshire, Bingley Music Live is small yet ambitious. With a warm welcome and a select bill, the event is now into its third year and shows no sign of stopping. Now topping 15,000 capacity, the festival is one of the most affordable in the UK.
Held on the edge of the town in the historic Myrtle Park, Bingley Music Live has managed to scoop a number of star performers. Editors are due to headline, with the epic indie group due to release their new album soon.
Led by Tom Smith, the band took time off after the singer’s wife Edith Bowman gave birth. Now returning to the world of rock ‘n’ roll, you can bet that the little kid will be a festival fixture before long.
Joining Editors at Bingley Music Live are Manchester band Doves. Returning earlier this year after a lengthy break, the band’s new album ‘Kingdom Of Rust’ showed that the creative passions are still burning within them.
Further down the bill fans will be kept entertained by the likes of Calvin Harris. The Scottish dance producer is always a big draw in the summer season, recently scoring a number one hit with his retro-rave anthem ‘I’m Not Alone’.
The Zutons are also set to perform, with the much-loved Liverpool band still searching for a label after being dropped by Deltasonic. Joining the ‘Valerie’ crew are VV Brown, The Futureheads, Detroit Social Club and many more.
With a warm atmosphere and a stunning bill, Bingley Music Live is an event worth keeping an eye on. With more acts still to be confirmed, the festival just grows and grows with tickets priced at a credit crunch busting £25.
Bingley Music Live is due to take place between September 4th – 6th.
