Acclaimed songwriter Ed Harcourt is set to showcase his new album ‘Lustre’ with a special show in London.
Ed Harcourt is one of the most celebrated songwriters of his generation. Debut album ‘Here Be Monsters’ was released in 2001, and expertly showcased his whisper soft voice and poetic lyrics.
Since then, the songwriter has ploughed a lone furrow. Working on the fringes of the mainstream, albums such as ‘Strangers’ have turned Ed Harcourt into a cult hero.
Collecting some of his best known tracks onto the collection ‘Until Tomorrow Then’ the album won Ed Harcourt a much wider fan base. However fans were already clamouring for new material, with previous LP ‘The Beautiful Lie’ dropping in 2006.
Now Ed Harcourt has confirmed details of his new album. ‘Lustre’ is set to be released on June 14th, ending a period of silence for the singer.
Ending a four year wait for new material, the album is due to be released via Piano Wolf. Preceding the album will be new single ‘Do As I Say, Not As I Do’ a tender ballad typical of Harcourt.
In addition to this, Ed Harcourt has confirmed a special one off show at London’s Pigalle venue. The singer will perform tracks from his new album during the gig, his first live date in 2010.
Taking place on May 11th, tickets for the show are set to be released soon but be quick – demand is expected to be fierce.
