Glastonbury organizer Michael Eavis has praised the new ticketing system for the festival, saying it is the fairest “operation available anywhere.”
Last year’s Glastonbury was much criticized due to a convoluted ticket procedure and a relatively poor line up – despite having Southern gentlemen Kings Of Leon as headliners. Eavis has reformed the ticketing process, and briefs for the 2009 event will be available from October 5th.
A new registration process apparently holds the key. He told that BBC “with the new scheme, backed by the all-important registration process, everyone has an equal chance of getting a ticket.”
“And most importantly, every ticket will be going to a genuine festival-goer direct.”
“I’m also convinced that the £50 deposit will help a lot of people to spread the payment for their ticket over a much longer period.”
As ever, the headliners for the event have yet to be announced.
