Duran Duran have been forced to cancel a number of Stateside tour dates after keyboard player Nick Rhodes fell ill.
It’s a long way from their 80s peak, but Duran Duran remain an enormous touring attraction. Lining up a typically enormous Stateside tour, the band have been forced to cancel a series of shows.
Keyboard player Nick Rhodes has fallen ill, forcing Duran Duran to call off a number of live dates. “I feel completely helpless over the situation and all I can do is apologise to our fans,” Rhodes said. “We would never let them down unless it was totally unavoidable”.
The band have now cancelled three shows, with more cancellations possible. “I was hoping that after missing (Atlantic City’s) show, I would be feeling up to travelling and performing today” he said. “But having seen the doctor again first thing this morning, I have been told that I need to continue to rest, pending further tests.”
An official statement from the band said: “The band are so sorry to have to cancel another appearance but your kind words and good wishes have not gone without notice. Thank you!”
The shows are expected to be re-scheduled over the following days.
