Dum Dum Girls London Show

September dates extended

American noise-pop group Dum Dum Girls are set to play a one off show in London later this year.

Signed to Sub Pop, Dum Dum Girls released their debut album ‘I Will Be’ earlier this year to widespread acclaim. A word of mouth success story, the record mixed bubble gum pop with shards of noise.

An update on the template offered by The Jesus And Mary Chain, ‘I Will Be’ is a teasing, tantalising glimpse of what Dum Dum Girls are capable of. Dee Dee, Jules, Bambie and new drummer, Sandy Vu have won fans in high places, with MGMT requesting the band join them on tour.

Taking place later this month, the shows will see MGMT tour their controversial second album ‘Congratulations’. A deeply psych-indebted affair, Dum Dum Girls are the perfect opener for their confused yet inspiring racket.

Now the West Coast group have confirmed a special one off London show. Taking place on September 28th the band are set to perform in the capital’s newly opened music / arts space XOYO.

Launched last month, XOYO mixes art exhibitions with music. Booking a series of hot new acts, the London venue is now set to hold what could well be the last British headline show from Dum Dum Girls this year.

The new date sits in between their duties with MGMT, which finish in London a few days later. Ending with a three night stint at Brixton Academy, the tour ends with a no doubt spectacular show on October 1st.

Meanwhile, former members of Dum Dum Girls have launched a new group. Frank Rose And The Outs contain that familiar blend of 60s pop and all out noise – watch out for a free ‘Track Of The Day’ download next week.
