Duke Spirit Launch New Y-3 Range

British group hit New York

British indie rockers The Duke Spirit have helped launch the new Y-3 collection in New York.

Adidas have a lengthy relationship with the music scene. The trainer of choice during the golden era of hip hop, rap icons Run DMC chose to immortalise the firm with their classic track ‘My Adidas’.

Launching their new Spring / Summer range in New York, Adidas decided to soundtrack their exclusive Y-3 line with a performance from British indie rockers The Duke Spirit.

Currently working on their third album, The Duke Spirit decided to take time out to re-acquaint themselves with Adidas. The London based group last released a new album in 2008, with ‘Neptune’ earning widespread critical acclaim.

Making an impact in the United States, the band played several high profile television talk shows including the all important slot on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ where countless bands have broken through to the mainstream.

The Duke Spirit were chosen to open Y-3’s new range. Taking place in New York on Friday (September 17th) this wasn’t the first time the band had joined the world of fashion.

The London group worked with the famed designer Alexander McQueen before his death. The fashion icon picked the band’s singer Leila Moss as his muse, incorporating her face on a limited edition t-shirt.

Later releasing a CD alongside a collection from Alexander McQueen, The Duke Spirit have entered the fashion world once more. Helping to launch Y-3’s Spring / Summer range the band gave a special performance.

Drawing on their back catalogue, the band gave no hints as to the content of their eagerly awaited third album. Busy writing and recording new material, The Duke Spirit will aim to expand on the international success enjoyed by 2008’s ‘Neptune’.

Currently working with producer Richard File, The Duke Spirit are expected to return with new material next year.
