Dua Lipa’s awkward reaction to being accosted by a busker is going viral.
The pop icon had a terrific weekend at Glastonbury – she headlined on Friday, bringing ‘Radical Optimism’ to Worthy Farm. Then she kicked back on the festival site, catching stellar performances by some of her favourite artists.
It wasn’t all fantastic music, however. During one fateful walk through the hospitality area, Dua Lipa was approached by emerging songwriter and part-time festival busker Liam C, who asked for 30 seconds of her time.
To her infinite credit, Dua paused her plans and listened intently to his ukulele-backed efforts. He told Dua: “My name is Liam C, and I saw your Camden documentary and I thought it was amazing. Right now I am busking around Camden and I wanted to play you 30 seconds of my song and if you like it, I just want to get your reaction and that’s it…”
Shrugging and saying “sure” Dua Lipa’s non-plussed reaction has quickly gone viral, with fans sharing the funniest screenshots.

Liam C actually has some form of management, and – scrolling through his social media – it seems that he does this sort of thing all the time during festival season.
Remarkably, this time time it seems to have worked – as a result of the stunt, he gave an interview to BBC Breakfast.
Is it fair, though? Dua was there off-duty, and probably just wasn’t to have a good time – it’s not as though she gets a lot of down-time as it is, especially in the UK.
You do have to marvel at her patience, and the unique ability to give someone almost exactly 30 seconds before departing with the words: “I love it mate. It’s so good.”
Liam C wrote afterwards:
Well @glastofest was crazy, I blagged it In to promote myself. I had no other way of getting in and chasing my dreams than to sneak in and do it the hard way B I played to @dualipa just before I got removed and all I can say is @glastofest your amazing. Thank you x
Addressing the social media furore, he added:
Catch Dua Lipa at Wembley Stadium next summer.
