The first names for this summer’s Meltdown Festival have been announced.
The event takes place at London’s Southbank Centre this summer, opening on June 9th and closing on June 18th. Christine and the Queens has been installed as curator, and he becomes the youngest curator in Meltdown history.
The first names have been announced, with Icelandic post-rock group Sigur Los kicking off their European tour with a Meltdown show in the Royal Festival Hall.
Elsewhere, you’ll find shows from the wonderful Django Django, Stateside dream pop group Warpaint, oxlade, and the inspirational KOKOROKO.
Other names on the bill include a rare UK set from Bat For Lashes, multi-disciplinary extrovert Lynks, and ambitious sets from serpentwithfeet, Let’s Eat Grandma, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
Christine and the Queens will lead from the front, playing two shows at the Royal Festival Hall on June 17th and 18th.
Tickets for Meltdown 2023 go on sale this Friday (March 17th) at 10am.
