Dizzee Rascal Wants Prodigy Team Up

New collaboration on the cards

UK hip hop icon Dizzee Rascal has announced his intentions to work with rave rock legends The Prodigy.

Dizzee Rascal seems to have developed a taste for dance music. Moving away from his hip hop roots the rapper scored a massive hit last year after collaborating with Scottish producer Calvin Harris.

‘Dance Wiv Me’ went on to top the charts, soundtracking a summer of storming festival appearances. Never one to ease up, Dizzee Rascal went straight back into the studio to work on his new album – featuring contributions from a slew of guest producers.

Work with Armand Van Helden resulted in the smash hit single ‘Bonkers’. Uniting trance with Dizzee Rascal’s inventive flow, the single has been one of the biggest hits of the summer so far.

However the rapper may be far from finished, with Dizzee Rascal announcing his intention to work with The Prodigy.

Speaking to BBC 6Music Dizzee Rascal said “I think a good collaboration would be The Prodigy”.

“I’ve been saying that for a while but I just know for that next level of banging sound I know I could get that from them. What Prodigy do, what they’ve been doing for the past however long, they are the pinnacle of rave for me.”

Speaking about his chance of direction the rapper claimed that it took a trip to Ibiza to really allow him to grasp dance music. “I never really liked house but now I’m older and I’ve been to Ibiza and places like that I get it,” he said.

“Loads of pretty girls, no-one wants to kill each other, everyone’s happy. It’s wicked.”
